A picture perfect getaway that I never knew could exist; hidden between the valleys of the Swiss Alps is a village like no other.
After scrounging the web for things to do this past weekend, we stumbled upon cheap bus tickets to a nearby of Szczecin, Poland. The total roundtrip fare from Berlin to Szczecin was just less than 20 Euros and took about 2 hours by bus which meant it seemed like a perfect day trip destination.
Settling down in Berlin was no easy task by any means. Finding a place to stay here is extremely difficult at the moment. Now consider a foreigner who is only looking for a short-term stay that doesn’t speak a word in German. That just amplifies the difficulty. After a couple of nights in an Airbnb then a few nights in a youth hostel all while desperately trying to find a place to stay. I hit the jackpot with one advertisement.
When I first think of Europe, a small charming village usually comes to my mind, something like the village you see in Beauty and the Beast if you know what I mean. After visiting capital cities after capital cities of the many close-knit countries in Europe, my personal notion of the typical European city completely changed. That is until I made an impromptu stop in this northern city in Belgium, a small touristic city called Bruges or Brugge locally.
